The subscription and credits
To Bill has a single subscription, Business, which includes everything. Invoices sent by post are paid for separately, with credits.
The Business subscription
| Monthly | Yearly | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | CHF 30 per month | CHF 300 per year, that is CHF 25 per month (−17%) |
It includes unlimited users, clients, invoices, expenses (with receipts read by AI), quotes, items and collections, the QR-bill, recurring invoices, automatic reminders and custom numbering.
The Accounting, Payroll and Time & projects modules are switched on at no extra cost, in Settings › Modules: see Switch on modules.
The free trial
The Finish and start the trial button, at the end of your company’s setup, starts a free trial of 7 days, with the whole Business subscription, without a credit card. Each company is entitled to one trial only.
During the trial, a banner at the top of the screen shows the days left. Three days before the end, it reminds you. Click Upgrade now to subscribe; nothing is charged before you have chosen a plan.
Subscribe
- Open your account menu, at the bottom left, then Subscription. During the trial, the page shows its end date; click Choose a plan.
- Choose Monthly or Yearly.
- If you have a promo code, enter it in Enter your promo code and click Apply.
- Enter your card, then click Subscribe. The first payment is charged straight away; the message You have successfully subscribed. confirms it.
Payment goes through Stripe. To Bill neither sees nor keeps your card number.
Manage your subscription
- Change plan: switch from monthly to yearly payment, or the other way round.
- Payment history: the latest charges, with their date, their amount and their status (Succeeded or Failed).
- Payment method: the card used. Change card opens Update payment method; enter the new card, then Update.
To see and manage the subscription, you need the Subscription › Manage permission; by default, only the administrator has it.
Subscribed from the mobile app?
If you subscribed in the To Bill app on iPhone or Android, the page says Managed via the App Store or Managed via Google Play. Change or cancel this subscription in your phone’s settings: To Bill cannot do it for you.
Cancel
- On the Subscription page, click Cancel subscription.
- If you wish, give the Reason for cancellation.
- By default, the subscription runs until the end of the period already paid. Tick Cancel immediately to stop it straight away.
- Click Confirm cancellation.
Until the end of the period, a banner reminds you of the end date, with Reactivate if you change your mind. During the trial, Cancel trial stops it straight away.
When the subscription stops
At the end of the trial or the subscription, your data stays there, but read-only: a red banner says so, with Subscribe.
- You can consult and download your invoices, your expenses and your accounting.
- You can no longer create or edit documents.
- Recurring invoices and automatic reminders stop.
Subscribe again to get everything back as before.
A payment that fails
If the charge fails (expired card, limit reached), you keep access, and a banner Your payment has failed… offers Update payment. Change the card quickly to avoid the subscription stopping.
Credits for sending by post
To Bill can print and post your invoices for you. Each letter is paid for in credits: 1 credit = CHF 1.00.
| Letter | Credits |
|---|---|
| First page | 3.90 |
| Each additional page | 0.25 |
An invoice of two pages (the invoice and its QR-bill) therefore costs 4.15 credits. You buy 10 credits at least at a time. Credits are only used for sending by post: AI, emails and the rest of To Bill do not use any.
Your balance is on the Subscription page, in the Postal credits card, which gives the rate: 1 credit = CHF 1.00, a one-page letter 3.90 credits, each extra page 0.25 credits.
The Credits page, which the search also opens, shows the same balance and the same rate under Pricing.
Buy credits
Open your account menu, at the bottom left, then Subscription. In the Postal credits card, click Recharge My Credits (1).
Choose the Number of credits to buy, 10 at least. Under the field, the window gives the rate: “1 credit = CHF 1.00. 10 credits at least. A one-page letter costs 3.90 credits, each extra page 0.25 credits.” The Total to pay appears in francs, for example CHF 10.00.
Click Proceed to Payment. The Pay for credits window sums up the purchase under Your purchase, with the lines Credits bought, Pricing and Amount to pay.
Choose Credit or debit card or TWINT, then click the button with the amount (for example Pay CHF 10.00) or Pay with TWINT.
If the balance is not enough for a letter, To Bill says so when you send it: Insufficient credits to send by post. To send an invoice by post, see Send an invoice.
